Building sites to watch
River Cree hotel tower
Beside the existing 249-room hotel: eighteen floors and something like 230–240 more rooms (30-plus of them suites), a big ballroom and a new pool where two waterslides are planned. Exterior complete as of June 2026.

Cascades Casino and Hotel Innisfil
BlogTO (September 2026): Gateway is building it to replace Georgian Downs — about 150,000 sq ft with a seven-storey hotel, live tables and more than 1,000 slots.

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa
The old Rideau Carleton site, rebuilt for $350 million; Hard Rock calls it its first fully integrated resort in Canada. Inside: a Council Oak steakhouse, a 2,200-capacity concert room and a casino that never shuts (1,500-plus slots). Age limit across the site: 19.

Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto
Casino Woodbine, rebuilt from the ground up as a resort next to the track. On site: free parking, a free shuttle to Pearson, a sauna and steam room by the pool, and a 5,000-capacity theatre.

Pickering Casino Resort Hotel
The hotel wing of the $500 million resort Great Canadian built in Pickering, just east of Toronto. Room sizes span 388 to 775 sq ft, with 22 accessible units. Day-one gaming: 2,200 slots, live tables numbering over ninety. Arena and theatre: 2,500 seats.

Great Blue Heron Casino & Hotel
Hotel finished on 1 November 2021, according to the casino of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation. Room counts conflict — 100 per Wikipedia, 116 per travel listings — and the operator lists none. The Nest event space: up to 800 guests.

Dakota Dunes Resort
About twenty minutes' drive south of Saskatoon, next to Dakota Dunes Casino. Ownership: Whitecap Dakota First Nation. Management: Atlific Hotels. The ribbon-cutting was October 8, 2020, and the building has 10,000 sq ft for meetings plus farm-to-table dining.

Older resorts, fresh work
- Casino Rama: Three new places to eat in just over a year — Chow in fall 2024, MATCH in May 2025, Atlas Steak and Fish in November 2025 — plus a ground-floor spa, with rooms being redone since 2025.
- River Rock: Turned 20 with a 2024 makeover whose centrepiece is Gordon Ramsay Steak; KOI moved into the former Miku space in 2026; a First Nations-led partnership bought the resort in June 2026.
- Grey Eagle: Casino works rolling through 2026–2027 in phases; the pool is out of action until they finish, and The Buffet goes dark in January 2027.
- Caesars Windsor: The nightclub left in January 2026; the Glengarry garage (six levels) was fully back in use on July 8, 2026.
