How we score casino hotels
Last updated · facts verified
Six criteria, each marked 0–10, combined as a weighted average — a single standout feature can't carry a hotel to first place.
| Criterion | Weight |
|---|---|
| Rooms & views | 25% |
| Casino floor | 20% |
| Dining | 20% |
| Shows & events | 15% |
| Pool, spa & fitness | 10% |
| Getting there | 10% |
What each criterion covers
- Rooms & views — room and suite count and variety, published sizes, outlook, recent renovations.
- Casino floor — footprint, slot and table numbers, hours, poker rooms and high-limit areas.
- Dining — breadth, a flagship restaurant, late-night food, buffet and brunch.
- Shows & events — venue capacity, bookings, who's admitted.
- Pool, spa & fitness — what's open today, not what used to be.
- Getting there — airport and downtown distances, transit links, parking.
Source order
First the hotel's and casino operator's own sites; next provincial tourism boards and hotel-brand pages; last, press reports and Wikipedia, always credited by name. Conflicting sources (Hilton Lac-Leamy's room total, say) get both numbers printed. Unpublished details are marked as such — we don't estimate. This edition's facts were checked October 23, 2026, and the new-openings page October 28, 2026.
Full disclosure: we didn't stay at these hotels for this edition. These are desk reviews of published information.
Money
No hotel pays us; hotel links are ordinary links. Links to casino sites on our online casino pages may be affiliate links — sign up through one and we may earn a commission, without any cost to you. Commissions have no bearing on hotel scores, and ranking places can't be purchased.
Corrections
A review can age in weeks — a restaurant shuts, a pool comes back, a fee creeps up. If you notice something that no longer holds, write to [email protected]. We verify against the source, fix the page and give it a fresh date.
