Fallsview Casino Resort: our review

Last updated · facts verified

Picture a Canadian casino hotel and you probably picture this one. Fallsview stacks 372 view-led rooms above 3,200-plus slots and 110 tables, runs two theatres — the bigger seats 5,000 — and counts upward of 20 restaurants. Nowhere else in the country pairs that kind of scale with a waterfall outside the window.

Good for: One weekend, one building: the outlook from your room, a headline show and a huge gaming floor.
Think twice if: A buffet is non-negotiable, or the kids (under 12) plan to swim without a parent.

The short version

At Fallsview the room is the draw, not an afterthought. All 372 rooms and suites were designed, the resort says, around what lies outside: Horseshoe Falls, the American Falls, the city skyline, or a mix. Downstairs sit roughly 200,000 sq ft of gaming (3,200-plus slots, 110 tables), a pair of theatres and upward of 20 restaurants. Arrive Friday, leave Sunday, never touch the car keys.

Sleeping

Deluxe rooms come in three outlooks (Horseshoe Falls, American Falls, city) and three bed set-ups (one king, two queens, two doubles). Inside: a sitting corner and desk, coffee maker, in-room safe, iron, hairdryer. Read the resort's FAQ closely and you'll find a candid admission — some rooms take in both falls, some only one. Paying for the view? Name the category precisely and get it confirmed.

Above that, five tiers of suite. Diplomat: wraps the tower's curved outer wall, panoramic falls or city view, whirlpool tub. Parlour: American Falls outlook, pull-out sofa, extra TV. Executive: partial falls view, bedroom behind its own door. Ambassador and Premier: falls-facing with a separate bedroom — and the Premier throws in full living and dining areas plus an oversized bathroom.

Times worth noting: check-in 4 p.m., check-out 11 a.m., room service 7–11 a.m. and 6–11 p.m.

Gaming

Bring ID; the floor is 19+, and babes in arms and strollers are turned away. Infinity Bar serves on the floor from 9 a.m. until 1:50 a.m. Loyalty runs on Momentum, Mohegan's programme, which climbs from the free Core level through Ignite, Leap and Ascend to Soar. For drivers the level that matters is Ignite: from there up, casino parking costs nothing, while everyone else pays a daily rate set by the resort.

On stage

Shows are Fallsview's trump card. The OLG Stage takes 5,000 people, nobody more than 150 feet from the performers, and the resort quotes a Billboard ranking naming it Canada's No. 1 venue in the 2,501–5,000-capacity bracket. The Avalon Theatre is the smaller room: 1,559 seats, none beyond 100 feet. Between them they're marketed at 320-plus shows a year. Coming in December? Niagara Falls Tourism has Christmas On Ice at the Avalon, November 26–December 20, 2026 — 32 performances in its 14th season.

Eating and drinking

Two rooms carry OpenTable's "Top 50 Hotel Restaurants 2026" badge on their pages: 21 Club Steak & Seafood, the flagship, and Ponte Vecchio, the Italian. After those: Golden Lotus (Cantonese), a Noodle Bar, a Sushi & Oyster Bar, The Falls Deli, and Bar Barista, which swaps espresso for cocktails at night. The Galleria strip adds Lucky's, Vittorio's, Paramount Fine Foods, Shoeless Joe's and a Niagara Brewing Company taproom. Two gaps: no buffet runs at present, and the Dragonfly nightclub is closing after almost 20 years — a new concept is promised, its name still unannounced.

Downtime

Pool: indoor, 7 a.m.–10 p.m., daily key required, under-12s only with a parent. Gym: 7 a.m.–9 p.m. Spa: Damara Day Spa, where a tourism ticket listing priced a relaxation massage at $158.

Getting there

By the resort's count Toronto is 90 minutes away and Buffalo 45; Pearson airport is about 125 km off. Weekend and holiday GO trains link Union Station with Niagara Falls. On Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and show days, a free shuttle loops between Fallsview and Casino Niagara every 30 minutes, 4 p.m. to 12:45 a.m. The garage holds 3,000-plus vehicles and ten EV chargers (four on P1, six on P5). Pets: certified service animals only.

Our call

Doing just one Canadian casino hotel? Do this one — and spend the money on the outlook, not merely the bed. Lock in a falls-facing category, build your dates around the show calendar, and if you're driving, join Momentum before you go: parking is where the bill quietly grows.

Common questions

Does every room at Fallsview look at the falls?

No — the outlook is Horseshoe Falls, the American Falls or the city, and per the resort's FAQ some rooms see both falls, others just one. Book a falls-view category and ask for confirmation.

Can I eat at a buffet at Fallsview?

Not currently. Its dining page says the resort isn't operating a buffet at this time.

Is Fallsview OK for kids?

Yes: children may go anywhere on the property except the 19+ casino, and under-12s swim only with a parent present.
