Caesars Windsor: our review
Last updated · facts verified
Caesars Windsor out-rooms every other hotel we cover: 758, split over two towers, most aimed squarely at the Detroit skyline across the river. Its Colosseum seats 5,000 with nobody farther than 225 feet from the stage, the gaming floor runs to 2,000-plus slots and 80-plus tables, and you're downtown rather than stranded off a highway.
Good for: Big concerts, a riverside city break, and travellers who like choosing from lots of room types.
Think twice if: The kids expect a swim — it's an adults-only pool.
The short version
Two towers, 758 rooms, one river view. The Augustus Tower is the one the resort labels family-friendly; the Forum Tower is the older of the pair. Both stand on Riverside Drive in downtown Windsor, and what most rooms are really selling is Detroit — its skyline fills the opposite bank of the Detroit River.
Sleeping
Start with the Resort Room: about 402 sq ft, king bed, large desk, separate tub and shower, river outlook. A renovation of all 758 rooms was announced in 2018; the Forum Tower's share was done by September 2019, bringing 55-inch TVs, fresh bedding and new carpet. Suites climb in three steps — Resort Deluxe (whirlpool tub, wet bar), Junior (a separate living room, whirlpool in Forum Tower units only) and Executive (five-piece marble ensuite, a TV built into the mirror, separate butler entrance, a fireplace in some).
Check-in 4 p.m., check-out 11 a.m. One line to budget for: the booking page we used tacked a $23.40 resort fee onto each night, charged at checkout.
Gaming
Numbers from the August 2023 fact sheet: 2,000-plus slots and 80-plus tables — including, in the resort's words, Ontario's only live craps game — a World Series of Poker room, and a 1,700-sq-ft Caesars Sportsbook lit by 22 large screens. Casino and bars are 19+. Caesars Rewards is the card to carry; members get first crack at Colosseum presales.
On stage
Plenty of guests come for one reason: the Colosseum. It seats 5,000, and the resort says the farthest seat is 225 feet from the stage. A July 2026 announcement made it official that shows admit every age unless a listing states a limit. On the calendar when we looked: Alice Cooper, Friday, November 6, 2026.
Eating and drinking
A dress-up dinner means Neros Steakhouse. The rest is easygoing: Legends Sports Bar, Johnny Rockets, Spago Trattoria (Italian, family-style), Café 377 for breakfast and lunch, and a Tim Hortons on the Forum Tower main floor that never shuts. Local bands play Cosmos Lounge on Friday and Saturday nights; for the skyline, head to Vu Bar. No nightclub any more — ARIIUS relocated to Ouellette Avenue in January 2026.
Downtime
Pool: indoor and adults-only, with a big whirlpool, lounge chairs and towels provided. Sauna and fitness area are included for hotel guests. A spa? None among the amenities currently listed.
Getting there
Windsor International Airport is a quick taxi from downtown. Parking is in the six-storey garage at 257 Glengarry Avenue, back in full use since July 8, 2026 after over a year of repairs. From Detroit, the privately operated Tunnel Bus lets you off near McDougall and University, steps from the resort — $15, no cash accepted.
Our call
Book it for a show night or a two-day downtown escape with plenty of room options. Couples will love it; families can make the Augustus Tower work, but swimming will have to happen somewhere else.
Common questions
Is the Caesars Windsor pool for adults only?
It is. The fact sheet calls it an adult-only indoor pool with a whirlpool hot tub.
Can I bring a teenager to a Colosseum concert?
In most cases. Colosseum events admit every age unless an individual listing sets a minimum, per the resort; the gaming floor and its bars remain 19+.
How much is the resort fee at Caesars Windsor?
$23.40 a night on the booking page we checked, collected at checkout.
